Alcoholism

Today, one of the most common social issues would definitely be alcoholism. Adults and teenagers nowadays, love to drink alcohol. Some of them drink because they want to relieve from stress (similar to smoking). However, through scientific research, there are many disadvantages of drinking alcohol. According to www.buzzfeed.com, there’s a fact stating that whiskey can cure cancer. But of course, that is false.
Everybody faces stress but alcohol is not the solution!

Lung Infection
Firstly, alcohol can affect how our internal organs work. Our lungs will be affected most by alcohol. In simple words, there’ll be permanent damage (scarring) towards the lungs because of excessive alcohol. Our lungs are very important because they help us with breathing, breaking down protein, managing sugar (glucose) level, and many more. Basically, drinking alcohol can cause infections such as lung cancer or even cystic fibrosis and these infections are usually incurable.

This is what happens when you
drink too much alcohol!
Other than that, alcohol is known act as a stimulant. This will cause the body to become more active than usual (similar to adrenaline). However, alcohol is a type of stimulant which causes the human to have less control over the brain. This is why drinkers forget things easily. Drinkers will drink alcohol, get hyped up, and then party every day. This might sound fun but it’s very dangerous, especially for heavy drinkers. These people will be unconscious and sometimes have no idea of what they’re doing. Not only that, there have been many car accidents because they still want to drive even when they’re drunk!

Say NO to alcohol!
Overall, this is a social issue that must be resolved in the future. There have been many deaths over the years. Some of our children are getting influenced by the alcohol commercials broadcasted on television. Therefore, it’s very important for parents to have more control over their actions in their daily activities. In my opinion, I never understood the purpose of drinking. There’s just one question that I always ask myself when it comes to alcohol, “Why should I need to drink alcohol, when there’s Pepsi?”
